Tuesday, April 10, 2007 (EST) - Separation of Church & State and the Muslim World

Please note the 8 PM meeting time at Taj Mahal. (See the Details section to the left for Restaurant information.)

76th Meeting:  Separation of Church and State and the Muslim World

The western view of government is based upon democratic institutions with a separation of church and state.  Yet the Muslim world intertwines the two in a way the West cannot seem to comprehend.

Obviously there is a difference between secular government based upon laws written from Judeo-Christian concepts of morality and governments run by political and spiritual leaders, but do they have to conflict with one another?  What is the best way for these systems to co-exist?

Please make your $7 deposit hereThe total $17 attendance fee includes a 4 course Indian dinner and covers the tax and tip too.  First time attendees will pay the full deposit, but will have all but $2 of it applied to their dinner. (If you previously made a deposit, please let us know if you want to attend this meeting.)
